Kate Marshall, MD, is an experienced geriatrics physician at Golden Oak Medicine in Asheville, North Carolina. She is double board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine and offers a wide array of expertise caring for patients aged 55 and older.

Dr. Marshall received her medical doctorate from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed internal medicine training at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which consistently ranks in the top 10 nationwide for internal medicine residency programs.

After becoming board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Marshall completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge in Morganton, North Carolina. Since completing her fellowship, she has worked in a variety of skilled nursing and acute rehabilitation facilities in several counties in North Carolina.

Dr. Marshall helps patients achieve the highest quality of life possible, allowing them to maintain their independence as long as they can. She specializes in treating osteoporosis, mobility problems, dementia, and other mental health issues and minimizes medication use.

Dr. Marshall grew up in New Jersey. She enjoys visiting her parents there and spending time at the Jersey Shore. She is married to Dr. Ryan Marshall, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and is the mother of four beautiful children who keep her young at heart.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking while listening to podcasts, sharing dinners with her family, riding her Peloton, reading, hiking, and spending time at home or on Biltmore Lake with her children, husband, and dog.
